Kendall Jenner on Body Image: “I Have Bad Days Too” - Teen Vogue

Kendall Jenner wants the world to know: she has bad days, too.

The model opened up on social media about body image after a few fans insinuated that her photoshoot for big sis Kim Kardashian’s latest Skims collection were leaving them feeling insecure. The photos caught a lot of social media attention on Friday, February 12, with Kim, Kylie, and Kendall modeling the brand’s Fits Everybody Valentine’s Day line, which features various intimate separates. Kendall shared photos of herself modeling a red bra and matching underwear, attracting lots of comments from fans.

When one follower tweeted that they have “99 problems and looking like Kendall Jenner would solve all of them,” the model responded to remind them that everyone has their own sets of struggles — yes, even supermodels like Kendall herself. (And FWIW, no one's body determines their worth. Period.)

“I am an extremely lucky girl,” Kendall tweeted on Friday. “Appreciative of all that I have. But I want you to know I have bad days too and that I hear you! You are beautiful just the way you are!!! It’s not always as perfect as it may seem.”

A quick scroll through the replies shows that plenty of fans feel inspired by her words, with some posting their own selfies in her mentions. “My confidence after Kenny J says she has bad days too,” wrote one Twitter user with several “trending upwards” chart emoji alongside a mirror selfie.

This isn't the first time Kendall has addressed her own struggles with body image. In a 2019 interview with The Telegraph, the model and reality star explained that she sometimes feels like she doesn’t fit in with the rest of her sisters because of her shape. “My sisters are a lot curvier than me,” she explained at the time. “They have boobs and I don't have boobs. Growing up being this little twiggy girl, I saw my sisters and always thought, 'Oh, no, am I supposed to be more sexy like them?’”

But ultimately Kendall concluded that it’s important to have her own identity — and it’s perfectly fine if it’s different from her other family members. “I'm not necessarily a lot like them,” she said. “I like that I have a different vibe to everyone. I like to do different things. And that's OK.”
