The latest episode of The Kardashians focused heavily on Kendall Jenner and her new business pursuits, and now, fans are saying that they don't think she understands regular people. While Kendall’s sisters and mother praised her heavily throughout the show, she has once again upset fans, with some believing that she's out of touch. This is despite the best efforts of producers, who try to make Kendall appear down to earth. Apparently, viewers are seeing through the show.
The Kardashians season 2 episode 5, One Night in Miami, followed Kendall as she promoted her 818 tequila brand. Kendall was also set to promote a new Tao club in Las Vegas, and invited Kylie Jenner to join her, as she was dreading the public event. In her confessional, Kendall shared that she feels anxious while attending events, due to the amounts of hate that she gets online constantly. While this did garner sympathy for Kendall from many fans, she soon offended fans again, including a TikTok user named Grace Lamb.
The heat that Kendall received this time was due to her attitude towards the marketing event in Las Vegas. After Kylie canceled the trip because she wanted to focus on her new baby, Kendall flew on “Kylie Air” to Sin City, with friend Hailey Bieber, and her team. During the scenes of her partying at a pool club with Brody Jenner and Scott Disick, surrounded by 818 tequila, Kendall was shown in her confessional, complaining about the event. Kendall said that she is not one to attend bars or clubs, and would much rather spend her time at a farm in the country, surrounded by animals. Once again, fans were provoked; they thought that Kendall didn't understand the privilege of her position.
After the episode, The Kardashians fan Grace made a TikTok explaining exactly why her comments are infuriating to viewers. As pointed out by Grace, if Kendall does not like nightclub events, then she should not have created a tequila brand that requires appearances at such gatherings, where she is getting paid exorbitant amounts of money to show her face. Also, given her success and assets, Kendall could likely own a farm in a rural area, if that truly was her dream. Grace’s video has 1.3 million views and over 3,000 comments, with fans of the show agreeing with the TikToker. One fan named Maureen commented on the clip, “They say it’s so stressful they’d rather be here and there. It’s like ok…go… you have the funds to never work again like I don’t get it lol.”
The shade did not stop there, as many of them were frustrated by the focus on Kendall for the majority of the episode, comparing her spots to “dead air” time. A Twitter user, Jisoo stan account, agreed, extending the dig to Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie, by saying that they need to “develop personalities” to make the show more interesting.
While hating Kendall is not new, and certainly happens a lot, many fans are upset that Kendall refuses to learn from her mistakes. She can still complain about her work engagements, as many people do, but fans want the business owner to recognize her position of wealth and opportunity. The Kardashians has many more episodes to air, and fans are hoping that the family goes back to being a little more relatable.
