Kendall Jenner Pregnant? - Gossip Cop

Kendall Jenner pregnant? That was the rumor quickly spreading exactly one year ago today. Gossip Cop shot down the false speculation about her having a “baby bump,” and it’s clear 12 months later there was no truth to it.

On December 29, 2017, after Jenner posted a selfie on Instagram of herself in a tight polka-dot dress, places like the Mirror began wrongly questioning whether the model was joining sisters Kylie Jenner, and Khloe and Kim Kardashian in expecting babies. The British tabloid blared in a headline, “Is Kendall Jenner PREGNANT too? ” To justify its article that should never have been written in the first place, the outlet pointed to online commenters who wrote such remarks on her Instagram post as “baby bump?,” “r u pregnant?,” and “thats about a late 3 early 4 month bump.”

OK!’s British edition similarly ran a piece online that asked, “Is Kendall Jenner pregnant?” It further noted Jenner was the “fourth Kardashian sister to face pregnancy rumors.” And rather than fact-checking the claim, it also lazily republished comments made on her Instagram photo.

Conversely, Gossip Cop checked in with sources close to the model, as well as with her rep. Jenner’s spokesperson told us unequivocally the speculation about her being pregnant was “ridiculous.” Now 365 days later, it’s clear Jenner was absolutely not pregnant, nor did she have a “baby bump.”

The following day, in response to a MTV Australia story that alleged “fans now reckon @KendallJenner is preggers,” thanks to the Instagram post, Jenner set the record straight on Twitter by writing, “i just like bagels ok!!!” To this day, Jenner is the only child of Kris Jenner who hasn’t had a child, and that’s how the supermodel wants it. This past spring, Jenner told Vogue in an interview for its April issue, “I am ready to wait. I want to have kids, but at, like, 28 or 29.”

And it’s clear Jenner, who was the highest paid model in 2018, is in no rush to have a family quite yet. In fact, she seems to like sharing photos of her tight tummy and slim physique. Earlier this month, for instance, Jenner posted a picture of herself strutting in lingerie at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. And just two days ago, much was made about Jenner showing some skin in lacy underwear in her Instagram story.

Gossip Cop sometimes revisits stories from the year before to remind readers there’s a difference between speculation in comment sections and real, legitimate reporting. In this particulate instance, there was no reason for outlets to publish articles about Jenner possibly being pregnant without having first checked with sources or reps. We hope in the coming year that, rather than birthing rumors, more news organizations adopt stricter reporting guidelines.
