Woman Mocks Kendall Jenner's Wedding Attire in Video Viewed Over 4.6M Times - Newsweek

A video that showed a woman mocking Kendall Jenner's controversial wedding attire has gone viral.

The video, found here, was posted to TikTok on November 11 by Ariannah Dabney (@ariannahisabelle), who wrote: "3rd times [sic] the charm. Can't wait for the wedding." The post has since racked up more than 4.6 million views and over 250,000 likes.

"Wearing this to my dad's wedding next week," the video's narrator said.

"It will look better with heels, don't worry," the narrator continued. "Or should I get it in white?"

In the video, Dabney models a "revealing" black mini dress with sheer paneling, akin to the one Jenner wore to friend Lauren Perez's wedding reception also on November 11, which sparked some backlash.

According to Elle, the dress Jenner wore was "a black dress from Mônot's SS22 collection, which featured diamond-shaped cut-outs across the bust, a bare midriff and a drop-waist black skirt."

Though Jenner didn't wear the dress during the ceremony, many online felt that the dress was inappropriate, and called Jenner out for trying to upstage the bride.

"It's not even about 'looking better than the bride' it's just so tacky and awkward to wear at a wedding," tweeted Emma.

"This is so tacky, kinda feels like she wanted more attention than the bride," wrote another Twitter user.

When it comes to selecting wedding attire, Brides recommended that guests avoid wearing something that is "too revealing."

"Keep your selections mostly modest with little hints and playfulness of sexiness through slits, mesh, and open-back dresses," said Brides. "A wedding isn't a chance to show off your body."

In a conversation with the website, etiquette expert Elaine Swann added: "remember that a wedding is a sacred ceremony and reflect that in your outfit selection."

In a separate conversation with USA Today, Swann also said: "We want to select attire that would still be flattering to oneself, but not so overly flattering that it upstages the bride on her special day."

Perhaps not realizing that Dabney was taking a jab at Jenner, many commenters expressed that her dress was "not appropriate" for a wedding.

"She should not wear that. She should let the bride shine on her wedding [day]," wrote ZopaDKaracol.

"Do you hate the bride?" asked Holynatt.

"It's a bit revealing," added Ma'Hogany.

Kristi Thomasson said: "That's not appropriate."

Still, plenty of other viewers were quick to realize that the video was a joke, and dropped hilarious responses in the comments section.

"Kendall Jenner approves," said whadup.

"It's giving Kendall Jenner," added Samantha Hernandez.

"Kendall said it's okay, Kendall said it's quite alright," joked Milica.
