Teen using fake Kylie Jenner lip kit 'left struggling to breathe after mouth swells up'

A TEEN has been left struggling to breathe after using a fake Kylie Jenner lip kit.

Rachael McLaughlin, 18, had to be rushed to hospital when her lips started to swell and she couldn't feel her face after using the £3 kit bought on Facebook.

The teen has now warned of the dangers of ordering the knock-off kits online.

Speaking to Belfast Live, the young student said: "It was the scariest experience ever.

"I lost all feeling round the bottom of my face and my lips continued to grow bigger from when I first saw them.

"I couldn't even look at myself and when others looked at me they said I looked like a completely different person."

The young woman, of Belfast, had to go to the A&E at Belfast Royal Victoria Hospital after being left with badly blistered lips over the weekend.

Kylie Jenner's lipkits normally cost about £25.

Her family said that the Facebook page she had bought the fake lip kit from had since disappeared.

A spokesperson for the Belfast Trust said: "Whilst we cannot comment on individual cases we urge everyone to be vigilant in using fake lip kits as some of the contents may lead to a reaction of varying severity."

It comes after another teen's lips were left blistered and swollen from using a fake Kylie Jenner product.
