Caitlyn Jenner, candidate for governor in the upcoming gubernatorial recall election, visited Greenville and Quincy on Aug. 19 and 20 to receive a “boots-on-the-ground” report on the status of the Dixie Fire and recovery efforts for fire survivors. There were tours of local relief efforts, sharing ice cream with locals at the Toy Store in Quincy, and a visit to downtown Greenville. Jenner also attended a round table meeting with local business, civic, and government leaders, which was followed by a private interview.
Following are the two questions asked during the interview:
Question 1 – After visiting Plumas County and Greenville, what do you believe are the three most important needs for Greenville fire survivors, and Plumas County as a whole?
Answer: a. Housing
b. A quick financial response
c. Streamline regulations related to recovery and reconstruction
Question 2 – Yesterday, you pledged to help Greenville and Plumas County recover from this disaster caused by the Dixie Fire. You also mentioned that you have connections with influential persons who can be brought to help Plumas County, and California as a state. What actions do you plan to take in the next five days to activate such personal connections, and bring immediate assistance to Greenville fire survivors, and Plumas County?
Answer: “It is important to keep the attention of Sacramento, all of America, and the world on the desperate situation of Greenville and Plumas County. If there is one thing that I am good at, it is getting lots of public attention. I pledge to continue using my public platform to help. I will need to carefully consider who among my friends is best capable of helping to organize what I saw is so desperately needed here in Greenville and Plumas County, and I will try to contact such persons.”
It was agreed that there would be an update in five to seven days to learn if Jenner is successful with these efforts to help.
