Over the holiday, Kendall Jenner stepped out of her comfort zone and experimented with some super-cool graphic nail looks — including an asymmetrical animal-print french manicure that we wanted to copy as soon as we saw it. Now though, it seems the supermodel is back on her neutral nail grind. Case in point: Over the weekend, Jenner revealed a solid-color white manicure without any abstract designs or nail-art accessories.
The 25-year-old reality star showed off her new nail look via her Instagram Stories on Saturday, January 16, in a repost from Modern Pamper Salon — aka one of the Kardashian-Jenner crew's favorite nail joints in North Hollywood, California. On top of the photo of her nails, it reads, "Milky @kendalljenner," which is in reference to the "milky nails" manicure trend that cropped up a couple of years ago when Lizzo started wearing the semi-opaque white look on the regular.
"Milky nails" aren't meant to be opaque or sheer, but rather somewhere in the middle with a subtly translucent feel that's reminiscent of — you guessed it — milk. Virginia-based nail artist Victoyria previously told Allure that "milky nails" can be achieved using both acrylic powder and gel polish; it simply depends on the artist's preference.
Unfortunately, Modern Pamper Salon didn't reveal what they used on Jenner's nails. However, if you want to score a similar look at home, try using a creamy, slightly off-white polish, such as Zoya's Adel or Essie's Marshmallow. Alternatively, you can also use an acrylic powder, like this one from Amazon if you feel comfortable.
