\Last year Kendall Jenner unloaded a mansion in West Hollywood, near the Sunset Strip, to move to another mansion in a gated Beverly Hills community that presumably would offer better security.
Her new $8.5 million, Spanish-style mansion in the Mulholland Estates neighborhood had belonged to Charlie Sheen, reports say. The 22-year-old supermodel no doubt hoped its more remote location would keep the bad guys away. She’d had bad experiences in West Hollywood, where she dealt with a string of scary incidents, including a burglary and an obsessed fan following her up her driveway, TMZ reported.
But now Jenner must be wondering if there is a safe place for her to live, after a Canadian man broke into Mulholland Estates three times in the past month and gained access to her property twice in the past week, according to TMZ.
John Ford, 37, was arrested Tuesday after being caught sitting on Jenner’s front porch, TMZ said. He is currently being held on a 5150 psychiatric hold. Jenner’s legal team is pushing for the District Attorney’s office to file a felony stalking charge against Ford.
It is the third time Ford has broken into Mulholland Estates, whose residents also have included Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, Tyler Perry and Slash.
Ford was first arrested last month after illegally entering the community, TMZ said. He pleaded guilty to a trespassing charge, and a judge ordered him to stay 1,000 feet from the community.
But he didn’t listen, with TMZ saying he returned with his sights set specifically on Jenner. This time, he didn’t break in near the front gate but gained access by scaling a mountainside behind the community where there is no security.
Ford managed to get into Jenner’s back yard where her security team spotted him sitting by her pool, TMZ said. But by the time the police arrived, he had fled.
Ford returned again on Tuesday — again by climbing the unsecured mountain — and made his way to Jenner’s front porch, TMZ reported.
“It’s gotta be enraging to her because security at her multimillion dollar exclusive gated community left a gaping hole for the guy to enter,” TMZ reported.
Jenner purchased Sheen’s five-bedroom mansion in August 2017 and was set to move in this summer after completing renovations, the Observer reported.
Sheen had purchased the home in 2012 for his ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, then turned around and tried to sell it the next year, according to Trulia.com. This was one of three homes Sheen has owned in the exclusive community over the years, the Observer reported.
But TMZ raised questions about how safe Mulholland Estates really was given that Sheen twice was a victim of car thieves at one of his homes, the New York Daily News reported. In each scenario, a thief stole one of Sheen’s cars from his property and drove it over the side of a cliff on Mulholland Drive.
For that reason, TMZ suggested in its October 2017 report on Jenner’s real estate purchase that Jenner should secure her front gate with a double-bolt lock.
TMZ reported Thursday morning that security had been beefed up in Mulholland Estates, inducing with guards posted on the mountainside and fences being installed.
