Over 20 seasons of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kris Jenner—the most famous momager in the world—has turned out many memorable looks. A signature Jenner ensemble is a black and white designer look always finished off with a luxe Hèrmes or Chanel bag. On the red carpet, she has a penchant for glitzy Balmain gowns and sleek Tom Ford suits. As the series comes to an end this year, Jenner sat down with Vogue to revisit some of her most memorable outfits both on and off the show.
Jenner kicked off her trip down fashion memory lane with an embellished black Escada suit that she wore to a Toys for Tots benefit in 1990, something she could still easily see herself wearing today. In 1992, she also recalled wearing a Chanel-clad biker outfit while posing on a Harley Davidson (it even had Chanel saddle bags attached to it!). “I have always had a love for Chanel,” she says of her favorite label. “I would go to the newsstand and buy all the Vogues from all over the world, and I think they featured so much Chanel that I was just obsessed with it.”
In the 2000s, Jenner and the whole family made their reality TV debut on Keeping Up, and the spotlight majorly upped the fashion ante. For the show’s season premiere in 2007, Jenner remembered wearing a black Milly dress with a silver sequin trim that she got from Dash, the store her daughters Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé used to run. “I used to always shop at Dash, they had such great things,” she says.
As the show gained popularity, Jenner said she and her daughters would often gravitate towards the same pieces, leading to many future outfit repeats on the red carpet. Case in point: in 2013, at the E! upfronts in New York City, Jenner wore a red Valentino lace dress that Kim had worn before. “People often thought I borrowed Kim’s dress, but nope—we both had the same one!” As for which daughter’s closet she raids the most today? “Khloé and I raid each other’s closets the most, because we’re probably the most similar in height, size, and style,” she says.
Jenner finished off the style reminiscing with a few more recent hits, including her Balmain gown at the 2016 Met Gala, as well as her leathery look at the Tom Ford show in Los Angeles in 2020. Over the past year, she says, “My style has evolved to be less is more.” But her most sentimental look of all? That would be the checkered Alessandra Rich dress she wore for her last Keeping Up taping. “This will always be a very special dress and hold a special memory for me,” Jenner says. “I came out of my last interview and I was hysterical crying.”
